Apple (iOS)

During the installation process, Apple (iOS) users will be asked to allow push notifications. Please agree to receive push notifications on your device. These will alert you to new TigerText messages. If during the initial installation period you elected to not receive push notifications, do the following:

  1. Tap Notification Center
  2. Scroll down to the TigerText entry and ensure the following are enabled: a. Alert Style: Select either Banners or Alerts.
    1. Badge App Icon
    2. Sounds
    3. Show in Notification Center
    4. Show on Lock Screen
  3. Tap Back to save changes

You should now be able to receive notifications on your device. Additionally, ensure that your device is not in Vibrate/Silent mode. If enabled, the vertical button above the iPhone and iPod Touch’s volume button will be showing orange. Your device will not provide you with an audible notification. There will be either a vibration, or no sound at all.

Android

There are three places where notifications for TigerText for your Android can be configured. Follow the below directions to ensure successful message delivery notifications:

Check TigerText’s application settings

  1. Open TigerText on your Android device and log in if you have not already done so.
  2. In the upper left-hand corner of the TigerText conversation screen, tap the hamburger menu button to open the application settings pullout.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Ensure the checkbox to the left of Enable Notifications is checked.
  6. Ensure the following are turned ON:
    1. Notifications
    2. Vibrate
  7. Choose your desired ringtone (below the Vibrate section) by tapping Pick.

This will be your Seton Active Directory/COMPASS password. If you do not know your password, please contact the service desk for a password reset. Service Desk 512.324.1675.

To log in use your COMPASS Username a Do not use your email address as your login. Your COMPANY ISSUED ID is TXAUS\UserID – Your UserID is the same as the UserID you use to login to COMPASS. Be sure to include TXAUS\.

TigerText is available both from the Seton Intranet and the Internet.

Accessing from the Seton Intranet

  1. Go to the Seton Intranet
  2. The Seton Intranet home page will appear. From the Web Apps header, select  TigerText
  3. To log in use your COMPASS Username and Password. Do not use your email address as your login.  Your COMPANY ISSUED ID is TXAUS\UserID – Your UserID is the same as the UserID you use to login to COMPASS. Be sure to include TXAUS\.

Accessing from the Internet

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Go to home.tigertext.com
  3. To log in use your COMPASS Username and Password. Do not use your email address as your login.  Your COMPANY ISSUED ID is TXAUS\UserID – Your UserID is the same as the UserID you use to login to COMPASS. Be sure to include TXAUS\.

No, you don’t need to log out, unless you are experiencing issues with the TigerText application. Even if you lose power, when your phone is re-charged or re-started you will be automatically logged back into the TigerText application. Staying logged in ensures you are receiving TigerText messages in a timely fashion.

The application is supported by both iOS and Android operating systems.

Photos will be viewable for 2 days.

Yes. Select the paperclip symbol next to the messaging box. From here you can take a new picture (mobile version), or send an existing photo.

Yes. This can be done over the web or through the mobile version. To create a Group:

On the web

  1. Go to the menu bar in the top left corner
  2. Select “ Create Group”
  3. Then Name the Group and add members
  4. Select “Create Group”
  5. Select start messaging

  1. Tap the “groups” Icon
  2. Tap the plus sing  in the upper right corner [+]
  3. Select group memebrs
  4. Select group settings
  5. Start messaging your group

Android users

  1. Tap the menu icon
  2. Tap ‘Create Group’
  3. Select group settings
  4. Select group members
  5. Start messaging your group

Yes. Select new message and search each user’s first or last name.

Yes, tap and hold on the message you wish to forward. You will be prompted to select an option. Select ‘forward’ to recall the message.
